On Friday 6thSept Hellenic Art Theatre, under the direction of Stavros Economidis will be premiering the comedy, Pelagia’s Ghost by Veatriki Mouka-Koch. Performances will continue until the 29thSeptember.
Ms Mouka-Koch, now living in Epirus, wrote the play whilst on a six-year post at the Greek Embassy in Canberra.
Pelagia’s Ghost is a witty play that will leave the audience laughing, intrigued and guessing.
Shocked upon discovering that her substantial nest egg is missing, Pelagia has a stroke and dies. Saint Peter gives her a 3 day pass to go back and find out where her money is and who stole it! What she sees upon her return will shock her.
Will Pelagia find her money and the culprit – so she can finally Rest in Peace?
Featuring a cast of experienced actors, many that have entertained you for decades along with new talent – Chris Messaris, Dennis Messaris, Evelyn Tsavalas, Zois Patelis, John Daviskas, Michael Kazonis, Mimika Valaris & Nita Marinakis and our dearest Melpo Papadopoulou as the Ghost!
Hellenic Art Theatre led by Artistic Director Stavros Economidis, has played an active role in Greek community, encouraging and nurturing second and third generation Greek Australians with their rich Greek culture. In Nov 2018 they were recognised for their contribution to the local community by Jo Haylen MP where certificates were granted to organisation she acknowledged in the Parliament
The quaint ‘hut’ at Addison Road Centre has been home to HAT for over 35 years. The ‘GREEK Theatre’ has recently become popular with local theatre lovers as it has been used as a venue for various other community theatre groups and youth drama workshops and holiday camps.
