An unprecedented attack has commenced against the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. This is an attack that has been escalated the last few days as the dark circles that are hidden or they think that they are hidden in the darkness move the strings so desperately in order to smudge the standing of Archbishop Makarios. It is apparent that they have decided to utilise every means to succeed in their dirty purpose.
The rabies-like attack started with reports in ecclesiastical website pages and newspapers continuing in wide-circulating Greek newspapers and in an Australian informative website. It is worthy to note how the Greek press has shown show much enthusiasm for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia for this but for the funeral of the late Greek Orthodox Archbishop Stylianos it did not demonstrate that level of interest for his greatness and his personality. During the past it was not uncommon that the yellow internet press and their printed forms would find materials to blemish the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese but up until now they have been silent.
Amongst those who are from Greece participating in this orchestrated effort to strike at the Archbishop are also high-ranking church officials who have been blinded from arrogance. Everyone is aware who are the “bitter ones”, who without calculating the outcomes of their actions, they attack Makarios, either because they were not awarded his chair or because the Archbishop will not succumb to their threats and to award them what they themselves desire.
At this point, a worthy question beckons. Why did the late Stylianos not satisfy their desires when he was in life? Was it because these were unacceptable and unjust and because these modern slanderers would not dare to put them to him?
Despite the role of these indecent people in this story being despicable, it is evident that they are just pawns in a big chess game. We request from the Archbishop Makarios who has the catholic support of all the Greek community of Australia to continue his work until the Great Snake is revealed.
Those who move the strings are found in Australia and will do everything at their own disposal in their effort to annihilate him. We predict that the same despicable slanderers will present themselves in the future in front of him looking as saviours!
All the other efforts to blemish the Archbishop in which in another edition we will prove what they are hiding as well as their insatiable hatred against the Ecumenical Patriarchate, have just failed. However, it is incomprehensible to allow to have half of the truths revealed for the famous apartment.
The purchase of the apartment in which not one day has the Archbishop stayed overnight is one of the many of the initiatives of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia on an economic and social level (let us leave aside the great ecclesiastical work that has been done) that occurred last year. All these initiatives, oddly enough, have not been presented in the ecclesiastical and the wider Greek press!
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia makes investments from the time that it was founded. It is good to remind ourselves that we are not in Greece and without any income, this institution is unable to fund its own obligations. An investment was and still is the wonderful estate in Redfern that hosts the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia as well as the Theological College and who knows what was said when that was purchased. Time has shown that this was a wise choice. It is also evident from the interviews that the Archbishop has spoken of his concerns for the future and that is the security of the clergy’s wages. No-one knows what the reality will be in 20 or 30 years’ time and it is almost certain that the Patris boat will no longer sail bringing immigrants at the numbers of the 1950s and 1960s. From the first day that Makarios landed in Australia, this was his major concern: the future of Hellenism in Australia, the future of the Greek Orthodox Church.
Archbishop Makarios, do not give in to the Greek-haters (“yenicari”) who are dreaming about the de-hellenization of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia which by its mere works enriches the most beautiful and multicultural country in the world, to those Greek-haters who despise their parents’ origins, to those bugs who were drinking the blood of the believers so that they can adorn their lounge rooms as they repelled people from the churches and to 2 to 3 miserable and vanity stricken high-ranking church officials who should have instead supported humbly and with all their powers the ideas of rejuvenation and progress. In lieu of this, they resorted to becoming slaves of decay of the most despicable of slanderers to slow down your work. Do not allow those to continue who think that the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia is a closed club that has as its aim to bring prestige and wealth to a few members and to destroy everything that was achieved by toil the last century. In the name of thousands of Greek migrants who are lying in Rookwood, in Botany and in other cemeteries throughout Australia, in the name of their children, their grandchildren and the future generations, raze down any obstructions and open the roads to the future. All of Australia is following you!
We are deeply convinced that the Archbishop will demonstrate great understanding in the sensitivities of the people who light a candle for him and he will utilise the apartment and all the other assets of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and its parishes for the common good and the needs of all Australians. We are also deeply convinced that he will turn a page in the history of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and he will get rid of the bugs that had been stuck on the body of the Church. And we know that he will do this in the most courageous and blessed manner of all Holy men.
